International Cultural Exchange Lecture Brings the Flavor of Korean Culture
The Office of Research and Development hosted the "International Cultural Exchange Lecture - Korean Culture and Kimchi" on December 25th, 2024, in Room 314 of the Administration Building at our university. The event attracted a large number of faculty, staff, and students. The lecture featured guest speakers Son Jooc-han and Zhao Ha-min, exchange students at NTSU from Korea. The session was assisted by Dai You-ming, a student who participated in an exchange program at Cheongyun University in Korea in Spring 2024, serving as the assistant host. Together, they led participants on an exciting cross-cultural journey.
The lecture was conducted in three languages: Chinese, English, and Korean, creating an international atmosphere. The two speakers shared in-depth insights into kimchi, Korea's national dish, including its historical background, production process, and its significance in everyday Korean life. They also held a Q&A session, answering questions from the audience.
Participants not only gained a fresh understanding of kimchi but also experienced the unique charm of Korean culture. The atmosphere was lively and engaging. Additionally, a variety of kimchi flavors were prepared for tasting, allowing attendees to enjoy authentic Korean flavors and experience the fusion of culture and cuisine firsthand. It was truly a wonderful international cultural feast.
