Explore Taiwan in Real- An Unforgettable Experience for the New International Students
The new international students at NTSU have just returned from an unforgettable experience as they took part in the cultural trip to Smangus (司馬庫斯) held by the International Affairs and Chinese Language Center (IACC).
Few people beyond Taiwan are aware that Taiwan has sixteen officially recognized tribes and the indigenous cultures make Taiwan unique. IACC took the new international students to explore an Atayal tribe at Smangus on a two-day tour. Participating students expressed great enthusiasm about the event because it gave them the chance to experience the indigenous cultures in Taiwan in real.
The cultural trip aimed to provide our international students with general knowledge about Taiwan and was a big success. None of the participating students had visited any tribes in Taiwan before, and it brought many photos of Taiwan in books or websites they had seen to life. The students were thrilled to be embarking on this adventure. Also, they had the opportunity to interact with the local residents and other tourists to know this land of wonder further.
