Netherlands Swimming National Team visits NTSU

In order to prepare for the 2019 Swimming World Championships and 2020 Olympics qualifying competition this July in Korea, 4 open water swimmers from Netherlands led by coach Thijs Hagelstein came to Asia for the training from June 25 to July 8.

After coach Marcel visited Taiwan last December, he was very satisfied with swimming pool and training facility in NTSU and Breeze canal in New Taipei City; also considering that the weather condition and diet in Taiwan are similar as Korea and Japan, Netherlands national team decided to have a pre-competition training plan in Taiwan.

In the lineup of swimmers this time, Ferry Weertman and Sharon van Rouwendaal are the male and female open water Gold Medalists of 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The coaches and swimmers expressed their satisfaction with the training during their stay in NTSU, and especially thanked the relevant faculty who assisted them in completing the training, including international affairs center, Swimming pool, and trainers in strength and conditioning center.
